Judy Palmer Board of Directors

Inspired by the garden’s setting, I found a peaceful place to commemorate my husband and daughter in the Saint Francis of Assisi Sculpture Garden at Marywood.

I also have roots (pun intended) on this location. Beginning in kindergarten at Marywood Academy with Sister Leonard and her collection of animals which included two dogs, cats, a lamb, a goat, rabbits, chickens and a goldfish pond – we had our own little animal world near the site of the present day Sculpture Garden.

As a graduate of Marywood, the opportunity to visit and walk the garden trail brings back so many memories of elementary and high school years. What a tribute for the Dominican Sisters who have maintained this property for all these years to be near this dedicated space that offers a place for quiet reflection.

And, as we walk the garden path, the sculptures tell the stories of the life of Saint Francis and reminds us of the connections, events and memories of people in our lives. I am honored to serve on the  Instruments of Hope Board and to support and spread the word about this hidden jewel.

Thank you to Mic for asking me to join the board.
