NEW BRIDGE PROJECT UNDERWAY!
Saint Francis Sculpture Garden is thrilled to be moving forward on a bridge connecting east to west, where Frank meets Dom over the scenic Sunnybrook creek on the grounds of the Saint Francis Sculpture Garden. The 155-foot spanning wooden bridge will be barrier-free and handicap accessible. The bridge will feature a “bump out” viewing section featuring a large, three-quarter scale bronze sculpture by Mic. PEACE GATHERING TO COMMEMORATE THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST PERUGIA-ASSISI PEACE MARCH - SUNDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2021
The Grand Rapids Sister City of Perugia, Italy and the Saint Francis of Assisi Sculpture Garden held a PEACE GATHERING to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the first Perugia-Assisi Peace March Sunday, October 10th at 2pm at the Saint Francis of Assisi Sculpture Garden on the grounds of the Dominican Center at Marywood Academy - 2025 E. 50 people remember loved ones in the Saint Francis of Assisi Sculpture Garden with a walk through the garden and then planting of 50 plants in honor of those they lost. Event co-hosted with Grand Rapids Dominicans and Kaufman Interfaith Institute of GVSU.

St. Francis, A Sculptor, A Garden - November 4, 2017
Mic Carlson shared his story greatly inspired by St. Francis of Assisi. His bronze sculptures gently guide the landscape of the St. Francis Sculpture Garden and bring to life the zeal of St. Francis. Attendees heard directly from the artist and shared in his story as they journied through the St. Francis Sculpture Garden, a place of reflection and healing.
Blessing of the Animals - October 7, 2017
Our annual fun walk through the woods with our pets of many colors took place Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 2:00 PM. The Saint Francis of Assisi Sculpture Garden was the place to be! it was a great time for our babes as it always is! This blessing was so worth seeing the smiles on the faces of the many dogs, cats, goldfish, bunnies, salamanders, chickens, hamsters, guinea pigs and pot belly pigs who graced the pathways of our garden walk. Pastor Ginny Makita officiated the blessing.

On Sunday, July 10, 2016, in memory of Roman Walker, friends and family gathered in the St. Francis Sculpture Garden in Grand Rapids, Michigan to celebrate love. "I'll Be Seeing You" sung by Roman Walker, with Mark Kahny on piano, Elgin Vines on Bass and Bill Vits on Drums. Recorded at Goon Lagoon.
International Day of Peace Walk 2015
Sunday, September 20, 2015, Saint Francis Sculpture Garden non-profit held a walk through the lush winding pathways of the Francis of Assisi Sculpture Garden. People wrote their thoughts for peace on a colorful ribbon and attached it to the world base of an 11-foot statue of Francis, by Sculptor Mic Carlson. Members from "Threshold Choir Group" sang at one of the sites designated for rest and enjoyment by sculptures throughout the garden.
